Coconut masks are a traditional Mexican art form. The artisan begins with a coconut shell as a base and then adds various natural items such as plants, rope, shells, etc. as embellishments. They are then painted in bright colors with a shiny finish.
Each mask is unique and each mask will vary from the one pictured.
Note: These are called "masks" but they are not meant to be worn. Born from a tradition of mask making, the term is applied to a broad range of artistic creations assembled in a similar manner.
